01 / ABOUT ME

Operating across
disciplines.

Perpetually figuring out. Occasionally improving.

My background in mechatronic engineering has taught me to move between disciplines. I enjoy the places where mechanical, electrical and computational challenges meet, and where a good solution needs a little of each.

Whether I’m developing an instrument, writing software or refining an interface, what motivates me is the same: turning an idea into something tangible, functional and useful.

02 / MY PRACTICE

Bringing unconnected tools
together.

01

Engineering & product development

From a first concept to a working prototype. I bring mechanical design, electronics and embedded systems together in carefully considered physical products.

Mechanical design · PCB design · Prototyping · System integration

02

Software & digital experiences

Software that connects the physical and digital. I build tools for instrumentation, automation and analysis, alongside interactive experiences for the web.

Embedded software · React · TypeScript · Three.js

03

Design & communication

Complex ideas, clearly expressed. I approach interfaces, technical visualisations and visual identities with the same care as the engineering behind them.

Interface design · Technical visualisation · Visual identity

03 / CURRENT RESEARCH

Making diagnostics
more accessible.

Dublin City University · PhD research

Developing centrifugal microfluidic technologies for rapid, point-of-care molecular diagnostics.

My research brings precision mechanics, optical imaging, embedded electronics and computational analysis together in integrated Lab-on-a-Disc instrumentation.

A major part of this work is UVID, a co-rotating imaging platform designed to observe and analyse microfluidic processes while a disc is spinning. It spans mechanical architecture, optical design, wireless power, embedded computing and image processing.

The aim is to make sophisticated scientific instrumentation more accessible, affordable and practical.
